The short version
There is exactly one way to play Milky Way: sign up. The form takes about a minute, free play arrives with your new account under the posted terms, and our crew then sends you the right Milky Way download or web link for the device in your hand. That is the whole process. Everything below simply explains each part in more detail.
Why you should not chase a Milky Way download
Search for “milky way download”, “milkyway 777 apk” or “milky way app iPhone” and you will find pages full of mirror links, renamed files and pop-ups. Some are outdated, some are not the real game, and some exist only to push unwanted software onto your phone. A file from a random site also does not come with an account, so it would not let you play anyway.
Signing up solves the problem at the source. Once your account exists, the crew knows exactly which build or link fits your device and sends it directly to you. If you get stuck, open ground control chat at the bottom right of any page.
Pre-flight checklist

Android: installing the Milky Way app
After sign-up, the crew sends an Android install link. Open it in Chrome. Because the Milky Way app is delivered outside the Play Store, Android may ask you to allow installs from your browser. Allow it for that one browser, install the app, then switch the setting off again. Open the app and enter the username and password the crew gave you.
A genuine game install never needs access to your text messages, contacts or banking apps. If anything asks for those, cancel and message the crew.
iPhone and iPad: access without an App Store listing
Apple devices do not run Android files, so there is no Milky Way APK for iPhone, and you do not need one. After you sign up, the crew sends the access route that works for iOS, usually a web link. Open it in Safari and use Share → Add to Home Screen so the game sits next to your other apps.
Desktop and laptop
On a computer you can usually play straight from a modern browser such as Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari. Open the link from the crew, sign in, and play on the larger screen.
Your Milky Way login
Your username and password come from the crew when your account is created. Type them exactly as sent, since capital letters matter. If a login fails, check for stray spaces first, then ask in ground control chat for a reset. Nobody from the crew will ever ask you to post your password publicly.
